‘Maintaining UKCS Exploration and Appraisal activity, making the most of the UK’s own energy resources in support of the transition towards a net zero carbon future and beyond’
The Exploration Task Force (XTF) is a joint industry and regulatory organisation focused on supporting UK exploration and appraisal activity, making the most of the UK’s own energy resources in support of the transition to a net zero carbon future and beyond.
The North Sea Transition Deal, signed between the UK Government and industry, sets out the framework for the re-invention of the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) as an integrated energy supply and carbon storage industry. This will enable the UKCS to meet up to 60% of the UK’s net zero abatement needs
UK Exploration and appraisal has a vital role to play in this journey to net zero through:
Our success is built on strong collaboration with the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) and a broad range of industry, academic and policy-focused stakeholders.
We invite you to work with us and play an important role in helping to deliver a sustainable transition to net zero.
